QUALITY
High Definition Knitting
When knitting, the gauge matters (# of stitches per inch). A higher count provides more resolution for the design, which opens up new possibilities. The machines we use are as high-def as it gets for beanies.

CONSTRUCTION TIP
6 gores vs 4 gores,
why it matters

Check out a few beanies in your closet, notice how the top is constructed. Often beanies are made with 4 seams (called gores), which is a quicker, cheaper way to sew a beanie together. However it has trade offs. Put that beanie on… the seams often pucker up to form what some call “mini horns”. Instead, sewing with 6 gores provides a superior fit with a smooth shape across the top of your head. This is how we make our globally sourced beanies… in line with the top retail brands out there. We sweat the details so you’ll love your beanie.

Yarn patterns

The magic of marling

Marling is when 2 yarn colors are mixed together for a nice textured look you’ve probably seen all over retail. It allows for cool color patterns that can bring extra style to your beanie.

PRO TIP – Is there a color you’re looking for that we don’t have in stock? Consider marling 2 colors together to create a new shade. The options are endless.

Rrrrib-it

Add some texture to your beanie with a 1×1 or 2×1 rib. I know you thought our beanies couldn’t get any softer, but ribbing adds a nice velvety hand feel as well.

Circular knitting machines are used to make the beanies. A “jump line” is created when the knitting machine finishes a row and moves to the next one. However, this is not noticeable with solid color areas, it only shows up with a color transition. We normally keep the jump line on the side of the beanie so it’s less noticeable.
